Osuolale Adeyinka Festus is a computer scientist working on fault tolerance and availability in cloud systems, measurable information-security risk, and identity architectures that resolve one person to one record. He holds a PhD in Computing and teaches at the Federal University of Technology, Akure.
Osuolale Adeyinka Festus is a computer scientist whose work asks a single question in three settings: what happens when a system's parts fail, and what does it cost to keep going anyway. In cloud computing he has modelled checkpointing and replication for real-time workloads, examined deduplication as a storage-economics problem, and independently evaluated what indigenous Nigerian cloud providers actually deliver. In information security he has built hybrid risk-assessment models, a multicast authentication scheme based on asymmetric key signature, and a hardware cryptographic processor. In data mining he introduced the Pattern Cube Algorithm for multidimensional analysis of telecommunications call detail records. He holds a PhD in Computing and is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science, Federal University of Technology, Akure.
Osuolale Adeyinka Festus is a computer scientist working at the intersection of distributed-systems reliability, information security and large-scale data analysis. His research programme runs along three connected lines. In cloud computing he has proposed and simulated a layered fault-mitigation architecture combining checkpointing and replication for real-time cloud workloads, treated data deduplication as a question of storage and bandwidth economics rather than of algorithms alone, and published an independent comparative evaluation of indigenous Nigerian cloud providers on availability, responsiveness, authenticity and repudiation — one of the few empirical readings of that market. In information and network security he has developed hybrid qualitative-quantitative models for security risk assessment, contributed a robust multicast authentication scheme based on asymmetric key signature, and designed a paired hardware cryptographic processor implemented on microcontrollers. In data mining he introduced the Pattern Cube Algorithm for multidimensional mining of telecommunications call detail records as sequential stream data, addressing the storage overhead that limits conventional cube approaches, and has proposed a schematic architecture for a national data harmonisation system for identity management. A recurring theme across his work is fragmentation — of systems, of records, and of identity — and what it takes to make the pieces resolve. He holds a PhD in Computing from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, where he is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science, School of Computing, and supervises undergraduate and postgraduate research in cloud systems, security and applied data mining.
