Privacy Policy
How this personal academic website handles personal information.
1. Who is responsible for this website?
The website is operated for Dr. Osuolale Adeyinka Festus ("Dr. Festus"), Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science, School of Computing, The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA). His FUTA role is provided as professional affiliation; it does not by itself make this website a FUTA-operated or FUTA-authorized website.
2. Information this website may contain
The academic record may contain professional information such as a name, academic position, institutional affiliation, research interests, publications, scholarly identifiers, professional links, supervision information and, where publication has been cleared, student or researcher information. Some information is publicly available elsewhere; publication on this website is still treated as a deliberate website publication decision.
3. Why information is published
- to present an accurate academic and professional record;
- to make publications and research interests easier to discover;
- to support legitimate academic communication, invitations and collaboration;
- to document provenance and distinguish verified material from information awaiting verification; and
- to provide practical information about supervision and academic work.
Where another person's identifiable information is involved, the publication decision should have an appropriate lawful basis and, where consent is the chosen basis, documented permission before publication. This is particularly important for photographs and information relating to students or minors.
4. Contact and privacy requests
For correction, access, removal, privacy questions or concerns about information published here, contact aofestus@futa.edu.ng. Please identify the page and the information concerned. A request will be reviewed rather than treated as an automatic admission that the original publication was unlawful.
5. Cookies, local storage and third parties
The current site does not intentionally set non-essential cookies. It uses browser local storage for the light/dark theme preference and a service worker for offline caching. Local storage is not a cookie. The site also currently loads its two display fonts from Google Fonts, which means a browser may make a request to Google's infrastructure when a page loads. See the Cookie Notice for the current implementation and its limitations.
6. Security and retention
The site is a static publication. It is designed to minimize collection by not providing a server-side account, comment system, analytics dashboard or invitation form that submits data to this website. Information supplied by email is handled through the relevant email systems. Specific retention periods are not stated here because no verified records-management schedule has been established for this personal website.
7. Rights and complaints
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, a person may have rights concerning personal data, including access, correction, deletion or restriction of processing. Requests can begin at the contact address above. Where a person believes a data-protection concern has not been resolved, they may also consider the complaint routes available under applicable Nigerian data-protection law, including the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
8. Changes
This notice may be updated when the website's data practices, technology or legal requirements change. The date at the top of this page records the current website review date.
